The last decade has seen a huge rise in the trend for solid wood floors. Recently, the market has become flooded with 'lookalikes', such as laminates and engineered flooring. The choice can be confusing, quality patchy, and, with all those 'little extras', the final price is not clear.

However, there is a real alternative. Rutherford Real Wood is the sole supplier of French Maritime Pine which is totally unlike any pine available in the UK or other parts of Europe. Every piece is cut from the heart of the tree, giving it a strength and density more usually associated with a hardwood. The pre-finished floorboards are available in a variety of stains: Honey Oak, American Walnut and French Brushed White as well as Natural giving you full control over the final look of the floor.

The wood is also pre-finished with a tough and durable laquer (80gsm), meaning that the floor can be laid in the same day, with no sanding, dust or fuss.

Not only this, but Rutherford Real Wood's pre-finished floorboards are 25% thicker than required by minimum building regulations, meaning they can be laid directly on to the joists. Also, tongue and grooved on all four sides, as well as being bevelled on the two long edges, fitting is quick and easy.

The wood is manufactured using lasers and video accuracy equipment, and every shrink-wrapped pack you receive has been pre-acclimatised, meaning the floorboards are ready to lay directly on to joists, saving you time and money.
